Face  of  Nation  : The drone was sighted flying near HK Tower, a check post on the Hussainiwala border in Ferozepur, Punjab. While flying five times, this drone also crossed the Indian border once. The drone was seen flying from the Pakistan side of the border from 10 pm to 10.40 pm and then again at 12.25 am when it crossed the Indian border after which BSF jawans alerted senior officials.

The BSF and Punjab Police, along with other intelligence agencies, have been conducting search operations since Tuesday morning. The operations are to find if Pakistani terror groups sent caches of drugs or ammunition via the drones.

While one drone was recovered last month and another was seized in a burnt condition nearly a fortnight ago from Jhabal town in Tarn Taran. The sighting comes a week after Punjab government recovered two drones used in dropping weapons from across the border.

Heavy-lifting drones were used by Pakistan to drop AK-47 rifles, counterfeit currency and narcotics in 10 sorties spanned over eight days, an investigation into weapons seizure at Tarn Taran in Punjab revealed.

Taking serious note of Pakistan using Chinese drones to airdrop weapons in Punjab, the Army and Border Security Force (BSF) sounded an all-out alert along the entire Indo-Pak border and Line of Control (LoC) and asked border-guarding troops and observation posts to keep a “hawk’s eye” over similar air-intrusions in future.

The Punjab Police exposed a terrorist module of the revived Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), backed by a Pakistan and Germany based terror group that was conspiring to unleash a series of terror strikes in Punjab and other adjoining states. Initial investigations revealed the use of drones to deliver weapons and communication hardware across the border.
