Poshik Sharma missing in Victorian town

Face of Nation : A student hasn’t been seen for more than two days after walking off in a small Victorian town, with police fearing he’s been met with “mischief”.

Poshik Sharma, 21, was last seen at the Duck Inn in Marysville before becoming separated from his group of friends on Thursday about 3.50pm.

Mr Sharma, who is studying to be an automatic mechanic, had an argument with his mates before he went missing, Nine News said.

Inspector David Ryan said Mr Sharma had not contacted family or friends.

“Simply, we believe he may have had some sort of mischief while he’s been out walking,” he said on Saturday, adding he’d not returned home to Werribee.

“Our concern is he may be in some difficulty in the local terrain. The inclement weather means we need to move fairly quickly to see if we can eliminate the local bushland and turn him up.”

Sister Samta said she did not know where he was and pleaded for help.

Another relative, Prince Teona, suggested he may have asked for a lift from someone to go back to Melbourne.

A police search involving the search and rescue, airwing and the State Emergency Service has been called off until Sunday morning.
