Face of Nation : Two boys and two girls who were inside the car have been arrested on suspicion of motoring offences, including aggravated taking and driving away and allowing to be carried. In the video, police appear to be blocking a road as an Audi arrived at the scene, which is near an Aldi store.
But the driver seemed undeterred and appeared to try and plough the way down the street, hitting a couple of vehicles on the way. Two 15-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of aggravated taking and driving away of a vehicle.
The first, named only as “A” was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, while “B” was further arrested on suspicion of robbery. Two 14-year-old girls were arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and allowing themselves to be carried in a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
As the Audi eventually stopped, it was surrounded by armed officers, one of who smashed through the passenger window with his gun. Police can be heard shouting into the car “get your hands up now”.
Eventually the driver’s car door opens, a police officer grabs their hands and guides them to the floor. At least one other person is then seen to emerge from the car and is also detained by detectives shouting “get on the floor”.
Repeated screams of “get your arms up” are heard in the dramatic scene with sirens blaring as backup arrives. At least eight officers appear to be on the scene cordoned off this morning amid the serious incident.
Armed officers rushed to the scene at about 10am, reports said. Officers were seen surrounding a car while a helicopter hovered overhead. A Met Police spokesman told Mirror Online: “At approximately 09:25hrs on Saturday, 28 September, officers attempted to stop a car in the Enfield area in connection with an ongoing investigation into a knife-point robbery.
“The vehicle failed to stop for police. A pursuit was authorised with the support of the National Police Air Service. “The suspect car collided with a number of vehicles before being stopped on Langston Road in Chigwell.
“The occupants of the car – two men and two women – have been arrested on suspicion of motoring offences, including aggravated taking and driving away and allowing to be carried.
