Face of Nation : PM Narendra Modi Mann Ki Baat Today Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation Sunday through his monthly radio broadcast ‘Mann ki Baat’. This is his first radio address after leading the BJP to a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
The PM took note of the growing water crisis in parts of the country, urging people to preserve every drop of water. Modi also spoke on the BJP’s victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, saying he was confident of his win as he had faith in people. Recalling his Kedarnath visit during polls, Modi said some politicised his journey.
“In the 2019 General elections, India witnessed 61 crore voters exercising their franchise. It was the largest democratic election ever held in the world,” he said.
The Mann ki Baat programme will be aired on All India Radio, Doordarshan and the Narendra Modi App at 11 AM on the last Sunday of every month.

Taking note of water crisis in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said a new Jala shakti ministry has been established that will allow quicker decision-making on all water issues.
Urging people to conserve water, Modi said he has three requests to make to people from all walks of life. “Pledge to save every drop of water and spread awareness on water preservation; suggest traditional means for water preservation; and share details of NGOs, individuals or organisations working on water preservation.”

“I was asked why I visited the holy site. People had apprehensions, made it a political issue. My journey there gave me an opportunity to meet my inner self.”
“I want to tell you that perhaps in that solitary cave, I got an opportunity to fill the vacuum caused due to the long gap of Mann Ki Baat,” he said.
Mann ki Baat flashback: What Modi said in first address
In his first monthly radio address after becoming the Prime Minister in 2014, Narendra Modi had advocated the need for use of khadi products as a homage to Mahatma Gandhi and impressed upon the people to generate confidence among themselves, including the specially-abled children.
Promising to make the radio broadcast a regular affair, Modi had invited ideas from the citizens while noting that he had been receiving a number of suggestions since it was announced that he would be addressing the nation over radio.
In his 15-minute address, he sought to motivate people to recognise their capabilities and use them.
Mann ki Baat: PM Modi’s radio address at 11 AM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will return with his monthly radio broadcast ‘Mann ki Baat’ from Sunday at 11 AM. This will be his first radio address since being sworn in as Prime Minister for a second consecutive term.
On February 24, days before the Lok Sabha elections were announced, Modi had suspended his monthly broadcast for March and April. He had then expressed confidence on his return to power and had said he will be back in the 54th episode of the radio programme. The BJP-led NDA returned to power with a massive mandate and Modi was sworn in as the prime minister on May 30.
