India’s First Private Train, Tejas Express, Flagged Off From Lucknow

Face of Nation :  IRCTC’s Tejas Express Lucknow to Delhi has been flagged off by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Lucknow today. The commercial run for Delhi to Lucknow Tejas Express will start from tomorrow (October 5, 2019). Train number 82502 IRCTC Tejas Express New Delhi-Lucknow will run six days of the week except on Tuesday. 

The train also has a refund policy. Apart from these, there are travel insurance, household theft insurance, baggage pick up-drop facility, exclusive ticket booking, advanced reservation period, nominal cancellation charges, luxury lounge and variety of foods. Passengers on board will be served premium quality food and beverages. Tea and coffee vending machines have been installed in the train for premium services. 

It may be noted that this is the first private train. According to Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), passengers booking tickets for IRCTC Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express must pay for the meals onboard meaning meal booking is mandatory to book tickets for IRCTC Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express.

Train number 82502 IRCTC Tejas Express New Delhi-Lucknow will run on 6 days of the week. The train will run on all days except on Tuesday.

Train number 82501 IRCTC Tejas Express Lucknow to Delhi Executive Chair Car is priced at Rs 2,310. AC Chair car (CC) ticket will cost you Rs 1,505. Train Number 82502 IRCTC Tejas Express ticket for Executive Chair Car (EC) will cost you Rs 2,450. The AC Chair car (CC) ticket is priced at Rs 1,755.

Train number 82501 IRCTC Tejas Express will leave Lucknow NE (LJN) at 6.10 am. The train will have halts at Kanpur Central (CNB) at 7.20 am. It will stop there for 5 minutes. The train will have a stoppage at Ghaziabad (GZB) at 11.45 am. The train will halt for two minutes. The train will reach New Delhi (NDLS) at 12.25 pm.

The train has nine AC chair car coaches and one executive class air-conditioned chair car coach. The executive class air-conditioned chair car coach has a total of 56 seats. Nine AC chair car coaches have 78 seats each. The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Expres has a capacity of carrying 758 passengers.
