Derelict Big Brother – house could become laser tag and paintball Adventure Park

Face of Nation : The abandoned Big Brother house could soon get a new lease of life after discussions over turning it into a paintball and laser tag venue.

The reality show’s famous “mansion” on the Gold Coast has fallen into disrepair since the series ended in 2014, with video shot recently in the grounds uncovering a derelict hellhole destroyed by vandals.

Australian Robert Kusch, his silent partner, and Chicago-based Tony Odinson, expect to make a deal with owners the Queensland Investment Corporation soon, the Gold Coast Bulletin reports.

The once palatial home has fallen into disrepair, with the pool covered by algae.

Vandals have destroyed the reality show set, situated beside Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.

Mr Odinson told the newspaper they want to call the house Adventure Park, because it is situated adjacent to the Dreamworld theme park.

The palatial home, whose residents had Australians glued to their televisions from 2001 to 2014, will become an “action-based venue for role-playing sports” such as laser tag, C-tag, aero tag, and paintball.

“We really want it to be a bit more family orientated. We intend to have little kids parties too, not just bucks’ parties,” Mr Odinson said, after around three years of negotiations.

QIC said it was “currently considering a range of future options” for the site.

Recent video shot by Aussie YouTuber MuiTube showed the pink mansion, which was fitted out with lavish decor, had gone to wrack and ruin.

The derelict home could now be transformed into a paintball and laser tag venue.

The prospective buyers said they want to create a space that appeals to the whole family.

Former contestant Skye Wheatley said it was ‘really sad’ to see the state the house was in now during a recent visit for a YouTube video.

The swimming pool is now a pond covered with green algae. Weeds are growing out of control. Glass windows and doors have been smashed and shattered glass is everywhere. Graffiti covers the walls, hallways, and even a toilet.

Former contestant Skye Wheatley then visited the Coomera home to see the destruction for herself.

“I lived there for three months of my life. I was so young,” the 25-year-old said in the video, as she walked through the grounds and checked out the former diary room, bathroom, kitchens, bedrooms and treehouse.

“I remember this … what the hell?” she said. “It’s fully been vandalised. This is where the cameramen were.

“I can’t believe how sad this is you guys. I’m really sad about this.

“This is horrible. Why do people like smashing sh*t? I don’t get it.

“I am so thankful for the opportunity to be on Big Brother. It just feels so weird being back here and seeing it in this state. It’s actually so sad.”

Ms Wheatley lived in the mansion for three months, and came third in the competition.
