Face of Nation : The appointment of senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi as interim president indicates that the Grand Old Party has not learnt any lessons from its defeat in the Lok Sabha elections even as dynasty politics were rejected by the voters, senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan said on Sunday.
“Congress is not willing to learn. It is surprising that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) still wants Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi to lead the party,” the BJP vice-president told reporters in Bhubaneshwar.
The senior BJP leader also highlighted the need for Congress to select a leader through a “democratic process”. Congress should choose a leader through a democratic process and if it fails to do so, no one can save the party, Chauhan claimed. In a resolution, the CWC on Saturday appointed Sonia Gandhi the interim party chief till the AICC elects a regular president.
