Car fire sparks five mile queues near Sevenoaks : M25 traffic latest

Face of Nation : The M25 clockwise is subject to five mile delays after a vehicle earlier caught fire between J5 M26 and Clacket Lane Services.

However, there are 30 minute tailbacks in the area resulting in five mile queues as peak rush hour begins.

Two of the carriageway’s four lanes were shut while firefighters tackled the blaze.

The car was extinguihsed and fire services have dampened down the car for later recovery.

Clacket Lane services are located between J5 for Sevenoaks and J6 for Godstone.

Elsewhere on the M25, a stalled car caused trqaffic to queue on the anticlockwise carriages near J25 A111 Stagg Hill, Potters Bar.

At 6.34am, AA traffic watch posted: “Queueing traffic due to earlier stalled car on M25 anticlockwise before J24 A111 Stagg Hill (Potters Bar).

Traffic was held for just under ten minutes at 07:50 to attend to the breakdown in lane one, police have towed the car away. All lanes have been re-opened.”
