Bihar Floods: Amitabh Bachchan donates Rs 51 lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund

Face of Nation : The incessant rainfall in Bihar has created havoc in the state and has affected the normal life of the natives. The heavy rainfall has created a flood-like situation in the state ravaged several districts like Patna, Kaimur and Bhagalpur.

In the wake of the severe floods, Amitabh Bachchan has donated Rs 51 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help in the restoration of human life in the state. The veteran actor also wrote a letter to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and expressed his condolences for the lives affected in the flood.

The letter read as, “I am deeply stricken by the natural calamity that has hit the state of Bihar. My deepest condolences and sympathies to all whose lives have been affected in the recent flood. Albeit in a small way, I extend my helping hand to ensure in the restoration of the human life in Bihar”. Amitabh Bachchan, who has been nominated for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award this year, also mentioned that he has publicised the contribution made to CM Relief Fund, Bihar on his Kaun Banega Crorepati 11.

Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, celebrities like Hrithik Roshan, Abhimanyu Singh, etc. have also extended a helping hand to the flood-affected areas. Besides, Sushant Singh Rajput, Manoj Bajpayee and Pankaj Tripathi have also urged their fans to donate to the Bihar relief fund.

For the uninitiated, the heavy rainfall in Bihar has claimed over 70 lives so far, while several people are still missing. Besides the acute water-logging in the state has also affected the modes of transportation in the state.
