Face of Nation : A man who was convicted of attempted murder after attacking his love rival with a box cutter, knife and screwdriver has been jailed in Western Australia for 15 years. Bradley Brian Clark, 32, went to his ex-partner’s house on a morning in November 2017 to collect some medication as he still visited the property with her permission.
The Supreme Court of WA heard on Tuesday that Clark then jumped around the lounge room as if he was “getting pumped up in a boxing match”, pulled a box cutter from his pocket then went into the bedroom and attacked the man. Clark punched and slashed him, all the while telling the man he was going to kill him.
After the blade was ejected from the box cutter during a struggle, Clark went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and screwdriver, which he used to stab the man. As he lay injured on the floor, Clark left the house and walked towards a park where he was confronted by police.
Only one of the wounds – and slash across the man’s face – was significant and left him permanently disfigured. “You had become preoccupied with thoughts that your former partner may be seeing other men,” Judge Joseph McGrath said on Tuesday
