Face of Nation  : Former AFL Brownlow medallist Ben Cousins has allegedly breached his bail conditions after testing positive for drugs. The 41-year-old’s court appearance this morning came just days after the former West Coast Eagles and Richmond Tigers star was seen playing with his children at a local park, looking healthy and relaxed. Police yesterday arrived at his Bicton home after he allegedly breached his bail conditions by failing a drug test.
Cousins is also set to face trial in September after his ex-partner Maylea Tinicheff accused him of stalking and threatening her.
Despite being ordered to stop using drugs, this morning it was revealed the failed test came back positive for amphetamine.
The court was also told today that Cousins submitted two void urine samples last month, which were deemed inadmissible because of temperature or creatinine levels.
He also rescheduled three other tests and told police he had employment or counselling appointments that clashed with the meeting.Cousins appeared clean shaven in the court appearance today and thanked the magistrate after he was released on bail.
He was warned, however, that he would be taken back into custody if he breaches his bail conditions another time.
Police are still investigating whether the former AFL player breached his violence restraining order when he met his kids and their mother at the park this week.
