Girls star Allison Williams splits from husband Ricky Van Veen

Face of Nation : Girls star Allison Williams and husband Ricky Van Veen have split after nearly four years of marriage.

In a joint statement, the couple told the New York Post: “With mutual love and respect, we have made the decision to separate as a couple. We are grateful for the friendship that we have and will continue to have.”

The two are “distinctly different,” according to a close friend — while they haven’t been spotted out together in months.

A source familiar with the splitting couple told us: “Every time I’ve seen Allison out recently, Ricky’s been nowhere to be seen.”

Indeed, the last time they were actually seen in public was at the Oscars in March 2018.

The pair were married in September 2015 in a lavish ceremony at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming, officiated by Tom Hanks.

Williams’ dad, newsreader Brian Williams, walked her down the aisle watched by stars including Van Veen’s best friend, John Mayer, his former girlfriend, Katy Perry, Girls creator and star Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, Barry Diller, Seth Meyers and Zosia Mamet.

Williams rose to fame playing uptight New Yorker Marnie Michaels — while Van Veen is currently Head of Global Creative Strategy at Facebook.

He made a fortune after co-founding comedy brand CollegeHumor and the video platform Vimeo.

And a source told us: “Allison really is Type A, a real go-getter. while Ricky is far more relaxed and laid-back. Things just haven’t been going well recently.”

The couple — who met in 2011 at a Bachelor viewing party — shared a $US2 million apartment in Chelsea.

However, we’re told they’re now living apart.

Williams — who starred in Jordan Peele’s breakout hit Get Out — recently caused a stir with her Netflix horror movie The Perfection, which viewers claimed is so gruesome it made them actually ill.

She’s been filming a survival thriller, Horizon Line, about a couple stranded on an island after a plane crash.
