Face of Nation : The Duchess of Sussex has shunned the help of the Palace and sought the advise of long-term friends George and Amal Clooney and pop-star Rihanna, a source has claimed. A royal source told Heat magazine: “Meghan feels that the palace’s way of transitioning her from Hollywood actress to British royal did her no favours, and now she’s prepared to go over their heads and speak to the people she thinks can help her best. “You can’t get much more of a publicity powerhouse than George Clooney, or, more to the point a cleverer woman than Amal.”
Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34 have enjoyed a whirlwind few months following the birth of their first child Archie-Harrison on May 6.
However, reports of a royal rift have once again re-surfaced today following the announcement Meghan and Harry will split from their joint charity with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
William, Kate, Harry and Meghan’s joint Royal Foundation venture lasted just 16 months after their first appearance as a foursome. The Palace denied there was a feud, saying it was “largely about preparing both couples for their future roles, which are obviously on divergent tracks”.
The statement on the Royal Foundation said: “Later this year the Royal Foundation will become the principal charitable and philanthropic vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will establish their own new charitable foundation with transitional operating support from The Royal Foundation.
“These changes are designed to best complement the work and responsibilities of Their Royal Highnesses as they prepare for their future roles, and to better align their charitable activity with their new households.”Royal insiders had claims the Duchesses were “very different people” and an argument centred on reprimanding staff and tensions during Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress fitting.
Earlier this month Meghan made her first public appearance since the birth with Kate as they arrived together for Trooping the Colour.
The pair, who are rarely seen on Royal engagements together, were joined on the procession by the Duke of Sussex and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
The ride along the Mall to Buckingham Palace was described as “rather tense” because of the Duchesses’ struggles to hide their true emotions, according to a body language expert.
Judi James told The Sun’s Fabulous Digital: “Meghan’s return to front line duty involved what looked at times like a rather tense, but also smiling carriage ride down the Mall with Harry, Camilla and Kate.
“Kate’s posture was slightly self-diminished, curled in slightly and with her arms pulled into her sides and her hands clasped in her lap.
“Kate’s non-verbal confidence signals have been increasing recently but the lack of relaxed splaying here suggested inner tension.”
