Face of Nation : Adelaide Strikers quick Megan Schutt has secured a special slice of history with a stunning hat-trick in Australia’s ODI win against the West Indies in Antigua. Schutt, 26, became the first Australian woman to take an ODI hat-trick and is now also the only woman to have two international hat-tricks to her name. The No.1 ranked T20I and ODI bowler delivered a T20I triple in March last year against India in Mumbai.

Schutt’s feat was the cherry on top of another dominant display by the Australians in the Caribbean, who swept the ODI series against the West Indies 3-0 with an eight-wicket victory.

The SA skipper picked up her hat-trick in the final over of the match, bowling Chinelle Henry for 39 before dismissing Karishma Ramharack caught on the boundary with the next ball.

Schutt then found Afy Fletcher’s off-stump with a trademark swinging delivery to complete her hat-trick and seal the win for the Australians. The squad will now head to Barbados to compete in the first of three T20Is at Kensington Oval.
