‘Should we send bangles’: Ajit Doval reveals intercepts of Pakistan’s frustration over Kashmir

Face of Nation : National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Saturday revealed one of the sensational intercepts on Pakistan’s frustration after the revocation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Doval was interacting with journalists in News Delhi when he revealed it.

“There are Pakistani communication towers 20 kilometers along border, they are trying to send messages, we heard intercepts they telling their men here ‘how so many apple trucks are moving, can’t you stop them? Should we send  you bangles?”  said Doval while interacting with journalists in New Delhi.

“We would like to see all restrictions go, but it depends on how Pakistan behaves. It’s a stimulant and response situation. If Pakistan starts behaving, terrorists don’t intimidate and infiltrate, if Pakistan stops sending signals through its towers to operatives, then we can lift restrictions,”Doval saying. “92.5 percent of the geographical area of Jammu and Kashmir is free of restrictions,” he added.

“I am totally convinced that majority of Kashmiris support the abrogation of article 370, they see greater opportunities, future, economic progress and employment opportunities, only a few miscreants are opposing it,” said Doval. He also said that the army presence in the Kashmir Valley was only limited to fighting terrorists, and police and central forces are there for handling public order.

“The question of army atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir does not arise. Only state police and some central forces are handling public order, the Indian army is there to fight terrorists,” said Doval.

Speaking about the arrest of Jammu and Kashmir politicians Doval said, “none of them (J&K political leaders) have been charged with criminal offence or sedition, they are in preventive custody till environment is created for democracy to function, which I believe may happen soon.”
