Former prime minister Manmohan Singh elected to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan

Face of Nation : Former prime minister Manmohan Singh was on Monday elected to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. The veteran Congress leader was elected unopposed to the upper house of Parliament. Congress’ chief whip, Mahesh Joshi, has received the certificate of election for Manmohan Singh.

Following the announcement, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted: “I congratulate former PM Dr Manmohan Singh ji on being elected unopposed as a member of Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. Dr Singh’s election is a matter of pride for entire state. His vast knowledge and rich experience would benefit the people of Rajasthan a lot.”
